08 Aug 2007
The balance between organisational success and ethical practice was top of the agenda at the 2nd ACCA East African convention in Uganda on 25 July.
Over 600 delegates from nine countries heard speeches from high profile figures in the profession including ACCA president Gill Ball, ACCA chief executive Allen Blewitt and Robert Cerasoli, American specialist on ethics, accountability and transparency.
The three-day event saw delegates and speakers debate the issues surrounding the improvement of ethical standards in the accounting profession.
A video report of the event, featuring interviews with some of the speakers, can be viewed by visiting the Uganda professionalism and ethics page.
The convention was the latest in a worldwide series of events focusing on ACCA's approach to professional values for both trainees and qualified accountants.
Events are taking place throughout the year in 34 countries worldwide.
