Record increase in students taking ACCA examinations
December 2006 exam session is the biggest yet

A record-breaking number of students have taken ACCA examinations, and will receive their results this week. 149,178 candidates entered ACCA's December 2006 examinations, generating over 331,000 scripts from 350 centres around the world.
And in keeping with the makeup of ACCA members, candidates came from a wide variety of working backgrounds - with the majority working in the corporate sector, followed by public practice and the public sector.
Clare Minchington, ACCA's managing director of education, learning and development, said: "These are impressive numbers and we are delighted that so many students took their December examinations, which have yet again managed to maintain their professional rigour while offering a breadth of opportunities for candidates around the world."
