Property Taxes and Red Tape Update

This event is hosted by the University of Brighton Business School.

In a new enterprise they are joining together with the local branches of several other professional bodies for an evening specifically intended to have the following aims

• opportuntities for cross sector networking
• exchange of relevant sector information
• share best practice

As well as ACCA, members have been invited from ACTA, CIMA, RICS and CIPD among others to attend this inaugural event.

Malcolm is past president of ACCA in Sussex and is currently chairman of Sussex Enterprise (The UK’s second fasting growing chamber of commerce, and deliverer of BusinessLink services in Sussex). He is also a main board director of the national British Chambers of Commerce, as well as president of the South East Chambers. In those positions he liaises on a regular basis with local and national politicians and business leaders.  An outspoken critic of business interference he has written several articles on Red Tape and bureaucracy. He is CEO of a manufacturing business in Sussex that started in 1974 as well as a director of several businesses throughout the South East.

Brian is a sole practitioner Chartered Certified Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor, based in Brighton and Hove.  He worked for a number of small and medium size general practice firms in the Sussex area for over 15 years, qualifying with Carpenter Box Chartered Accountants before establishing his own successful tax consultancy practice in 1997.  In addition to practice and consultancy work, Brian is a freelance tax lecturer for, among others, ACCA, CIOT and CCH.  He has also written online-CPD training courses for CCH and is current CIOT Sussex branch chairman.
