CPD and Volunteering

Speaker: Sara Llewellyn, Learning & Devlopment Policy Manager, ACCA & Janet Spencer, Chief Executive, Leeds Housing Concern and Independant Member, West Yorkshire Police Authority

The meeting will cover the following:

Sara Llewellyn's presentation will explore ways in which members can obtain their CPD - not just attending lectures.  However, there are other ways in which not only provide CPD opportunities but career development such as volunteering.  Volunteering can be very positive for the individual as well as socially responsible and of value to one's career.  Mentoring will be covered.

Janet Spencer will look at how as CEO she is continuously involved in identifying gaps in th expertise of the board and helping to identify ways to attract and recruit suitable people.  Her second presenatation will draw on personal experiences of volunteering in her own right.

There will be plenty of discussion and opportunity to exchange personal experiences and discuss CPD queries.
