FCCA gets top National Award
Bernard Dulal-Whiteway, Chief Executive Officer of the Neal and Massy Group of Companies, one of the largest conglomerates in the Caribbean, was presented with the Chaconia Gold Medal at the recent annual national award ceremony of Trinidad and Tobago. The ceremony is held every year on the anniversary of the country’s independence from colonial governance. The awards are presented by the President, as Head of State, to persons who have exhibited by their conduct or performance that they are worthy of receiving the country’s highest awards.
A Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA), Dulal-Whiteway started his career in business as an accountant, after completing the ACCA in London. He is the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Korea for Trinidad and Tobago, a member of the Boards of Directors of several state and public sector companies and he has also served on many private sector boards.
A Feature Speaker at an ACCA Caribbean Graduation held in Trinidad in November 2001, Mr. Dulal-Whiteway exemplifies the characteristics which he encouraged the affiliates to strive to possess. He said, “As a young man I used to dream and dream freely and that is where your bright future begins. Strive for excellence. Professional success can only come about when you have a passion for what you do and believe that you can reach the highest echelons of business.”
In receiving the Chaconia Gold Medal, Mr. Dulal-Whiteway joined the ranks of leading business professionals worldwide who have made their mark in the finance and accounting industry.
