CPD requirements
Undertaking continuing professional development (CPD) helps ACCA members maintain and develop the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in today's dynamic and demanding business environment. To ensure that ACCA members deliver a consistently high performance for their employers, ACCA developed a leading-edge CPD scheme, ACCA Realise. This fully meets the CPD Standard (IES 7) released by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) of which ACCA is a member.
ACCA Realise recognises that members need practical options for achieving CPD and has been designed to offer three different CPD routes:
Unit route: for those who are planning and organising their own CPD.
Employer route: for those who work for an organisation which is an ACCA Approved Employer - professional development.
IFAC body route: for those that also belong to another IFAC-member body, and choose to follow that body's CPD scheme.
No matter which route is chosen, members are required to complete an annual CPD declaration by 1 January immediately following the CPD year and are required to keep evidence consistent with the route followed.
