Training supervisor resources

Thank you for taking on the role of training supervisor for an ACCA trainee. It is important that the person who signs off a trainee’s performance objectives is qualified, because you understand the level and quality of work required to become a member of a professional accountancy body, ensuring the future of the accountancy profession.

In contrast to the workplace mentor, it is not your role to guide and support the development of the trainee in the workplace, and you don’t need to know the trainee or the nature of their work in detail. Your role is only to confirm the successful attainment of the performance objective, which you should be able to gauge from the quality and substance of the trainees answers to the challenge questions. If required you may gain additional assurance directly from the workplace mentor.

This section includes resources to help you with the practicalities of PER as a training supervisor. If you are interested in further information on PER please go to the workplace mentor section.
