Reinstatement to register
All former members seeking reinstatement (or former affiliates seeking reinstatement to the affiliate register) must pay the current year's subscription (£175 in 2008 for members, £90 for affiliates on the register for three years or less, £175 for affiliates on the register for more than three years) and the reinstatement fee (£40). A former member or affiliate who was struck-off for non-payment of the annual subscription will also be required to pay all outstanding back subscriptions. A former member or affiliate who formally resigned and whose resignation was accepted by Council will not be required to pay subscription fees for the period during which he or she was off the register of members/affiliates. If you are uncertain as to the full amount outstanding, you should complete and return the application form, by post, with a cheque for £215 or £130 as applicable: you will then be advised of any further sums due.
If you were excluded from membership (or the affiliate register) on disciplinary grounds or due to bankruptcy you may, in addition to completing the reinstatement to membership form and paying the current year's subscription and the reinstatement fee (and any other sums due), be asked to supply character references. Advice on these procedures will be given on receipt of this form.
If you are in public practice in the UK or Ireland (whether on a full-time or spare-time basis), an application for a practising certificate must be submitted with this form. If you are in public practice elsewhere, then either an application for an ACCA practising certificate or a copy of a practising certificate issued by a recognised national body or authority must accompany this form. (Applicable only to former members: affiliates are not permitted to enter into public practice.)
If you were excluded on disciplinary grounds or due to bankruptcy you may be subject to the preparation of a report by the ACCA Members' Advisory Service on your conduct in the period since your exclusion, for which an additional fee may be payable.
