Southern African CPD event focuses on the Public Sector
Andy Wynne, ACCA's Head of Public Sector Technical Issues recently visited Southern Africa and presented a seminar on developments in public sector accounting and auditing in Zambia, Botswana and South Africa. The seminars were attended by over 250 ACCA members and associates. The seminar in South Africa was hosted by the Office of the Auditor-General.
The talk covered:
- public sector reforms - setting standards, inspection and involvement of the private sector
- the introduction of accrual accounting for the public sector
- governance in the public sector.
The seminar in Gaborone was a joint event with the Botswana Institute of Accountants
