B. How to transfer to the new PER if you have part-completed your STR
If you have been recording your practical experience using the STR and will not have obtained all the required elements of competence for membership by 31 December 2008, then you will need to follow PER to achieve any remaining workplace experience. You can use your TDM to transfer your signed off elements of competence into the performance objectives which are part of PER. You must keep your signed-off STR in case ACCA asks to see it under ACCA’s PER audit procedures.
If you have gained a single STR element of competence, then you will be able to claim a related performance objective. You will only be able to use an STR element once to claim a related performance objective.
You should look at the Map STR elements to performance objectives document in related documents before undertaking transition to ensure that you maximise the performance objectives you can claim using your signed off elements of competence. There are two versions of this map – one if you have been completing the 2001 edition STR and the other if you have been completing the pre-2001 edition STR. Please note that you do not need to get your STR signed off again in order to claim performance objectives.
If you do not have access to the online TDM to complete your transition to the new PER, then a paper transition form is available from ACCA Connect.
